Other Maps and Data

Texas Hazard Mitigation Package (THMP)

For organizational purposes of this page, external links to 'Other Maps and Data' Web Sites will be organized as Portals, Base Map/Inventory-oriented, Hazard-oriented Sites .

Portals are all-in-one Sites that provide a variety of map data and services and do so primarily through linkages to other Sites. Base Map/Inventory-oriented Sites offer general base map data and/or inventory (assets) data often used in conjunction w/ hazard analysis or simply as reference/backdrop data. Hazard-oriented Sites may provide data on one specific hazard or a variety of hazards.

Additionally, external links will be classified as Interactive Map Viewer, Map Data or both depending on the Site's functionality with a few exceptions noted below. Interactive Map Viewers are typically interactive mapping applications that also offer the ability to download map data (like this Site; THMP). Map Data are typically Sites that offer databases to download and/or purchase without any ability to map the data interactively.

Note: In some cases, Interactive Map Viewer Sites have no Map Data download capabilities. These will be classified as Map Graphic Sites. In other cases, Map Data Sites have map viewing capabilities but only for purposes of selecting data to download/purchase. These will be classified as Map Data* (with an asterisk).

It should also be mentioned that some of the external Sites listed below served as sources for data layers that exist on this Site (THMP). See the Data Layers section, Source description for individual data layers on THMP.
